Letter to Editor of New York Times:

Rethinking the Role of the US press and the Iraq War (5-30-04)

While self-criticism of the Times' early enthusiasm for the Iraq war is refreshing, it remains to point at what gives rise to it: the Iraqis fought back. If Iraqis had been run over, bought, slapped, caged, re-educated, exterminated, stripped of their resources and sovereignity as planned, it is unlikely this rethinking would have occurred. As misguided as it may be, there is truth in resistance.
